Sample Downloading Issues

Just a quick update. I've noticed that some of the links samples on the site no longer work. They're currently hosted on Minus.com, this might be a bit of a glitch on their end but to be honest I don't really know.

I'm currently in the process of re-uploading the samples to FileFactory.com and will change the links in the effected posts. I'll put a post up here when all of the links have been updated but in the mean time, sit tight, they'll be available again soon.

Bad links

If you've linked to my site in the past then you will probably be experiencing some dead links. This is because I've recently changed the domain name of the site from dan303.com to Voltage-Controlled.com

This message goes out mainly to people that have linked to the samples and loops that I've uploaded. If you have a link on your site that is broken then you can just change the beginning of the link from 'blog.dan303.com' to 'www.Voltage-Controlled.com'. This should work form all previous links that you've posted.

Ive also set up a redirection page with a 'we have moved' link under the blog.dan303.com domain. So hopefully any links that direct to the old domain will fall onto that redirection page.

Animoog Tutorial - X/Y Pad

I've just stumbled upon this interesting little page by Bob Borries about the X/Y section of the new Moog Animoog app. It explains how the X and Y axis change the timbre of the synth engine. Head over to his site for the tutorial, the animated gifs really help to make it clear.

Free Album, Liable Mutt

About the album
You have probably noticed the unusual track names, this is because they are all anagrams of themselves. For example the first track "Cake Torn" is an anagram of "Track one" and the title of the album "liable mutt" is an anagram of "album title".

Production techniques
I didn't want to use a lot of equipment while recording this album as I wanted it to have a raw minimal feel to it.
The whole album was recorded on my Fostex D-80 8-track and mixed roughly with a basic Tapco 8 channel mixer. There was no computers involved in the production.

My Roland MC303 groovebox provided all drum and percussion sounds on the album, using mostly the 808 and 909 kits.

Most of the basslines were produced using my Freeform Analog Technologies FB383 [clone of the Roland TB303].

All other synth sounds came from my Korg Microkorg [apart from the strings on "Sax Trick" which came from the MC303].

For effects like reverb and distortion I used my korg Mini KP, Boss MD2 and Boss DS1.

Right then, just started this new blog.
I will post various things on here including a lot of my older music and projects along with other stuff I have been recently working on.
I will upload links to Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter, vampirefreaks, Last.FM and myspace accounts.
Basically anything on and off the net that I'm involved with.

Also lookout for links to friends projects for more music, art, video etc.
